Farmers Market

Homer, Alaska

In 2012, the Homer Farmers Market established an annual Grant/Scholarship Fund, with proceeds from the Annual Turkey Raffle (generously Homer-raised and donated by Marsha Rouggly).   To date, we've funded 8 projects in the Homer-area:

  • 2014: Lori Jenkins, Farmer Education Resources
  • 2013: Haven House, Chicken Coup Project
  • 2013: Ember Jackinsky, Winter Hardy Seed Cultivation


2017 Grant/Scholarship Application period is OPEN, until MAY 1, 2017, 5pm:


The Homer Farmers Market is offering one or more grants with a total of $900 available for projects during 2017:

  • Any farmer, student, or organization is encouraged to apply for the HFM grant for projects related to agriculture, food sciences, environmental studies or a related field.
  • Funds may be used towards projects related but not limited to: conferences, tuition, equipment, special projects or other proposals.
  • Applications must be submitted online.
  • If granted, a mid season project report must be submitted by September 1, 2017.
  • If granted, projects must be completed by December 31, 2017
  • Awardees must complete the follow-up form and all requirements stipulated by the HFM, including a presentation of your project at the annual meeting (held in late-January).
