​February 2017: 2017 Scholarship Announced! 

  • The Homer Farmers Market is offering one or more grants with a total of $900 available for projects during 2017.
  • Any farmer, student, or organization is encouraged to apply for the HFM grant for projects related to agriculture, food sciences, environmental studies or a related field.
  • Funds may be used towards projects related but not limited to: conferences, tuition, equipment, special projects or other proposals.
  • Applications must be submitted online.
  • If granted, projects must be completed by December 31, 2017.
  • Awardees must complete the follow-up form and all requirements stipulated by the HFM, including a presentation of your project at the annual meeting (held in late-January).

    • Full Season: Tax: $344 ($320 + $24/sales tax)
    • Full season with membership: $364  (no sales tax charged on memberships)
    • Saturday Only: $27 ($25 + $1.88/sales tax, rounded)
    • Wednesday Only: $11 ($10 + $.75 sales tax, rounded)
    • Membership: $20 (no sales tax charged)

  • Along with the application, please include a cover sheet with your name, address, phone and email and/or a resume/CV.
  • If granted, projects must be completed by December 31, 2016.
  • The awardee must complete the follow-up form and all requirements stipulated by the HFM, including a presentation of your project at the annual meeting (held in late-January).

February 2016: Calling all artists and designers! We are now accepting submissions for our 2016 poster, as well as our new round of merchandise. Please read through the following guidelines:

  • must be clear/large enough to be printed up to 11 x 14, or on a variety of merchandise
  • original artwork/photography only
  • themes should celebrate the Homer Farmers Market and its community
  • must be submitted by May 1, 2016
  • informative text will be added by the HFM to your design
  • you may submit more than one design (please, no more than 3)
  • Two-three entries will be chosen and awarded a $100 prize each 


Chosen designs will become property of the Homer Farmers Market and may be used in other promotional material including tshirts, hoodies, etc.)

​​​January 2016: Save the Date! A Night at the Movies Fundraiser will be at the Homer Theatre, 7:00pm on April 14th. We'll be screening the documentary, "A Farmer's Road."


January 2016: Full season applications are due by January 16th! Board election ballots are also due on the 16th, by NOON.  They were mailed last week- if you didn't receive one, please contact us for a ballot, or pick one up at the Annual Meeting.

September 2015: This will be an action packed month: Our third Annual Zucchini Festival and Races, Chef at the Market, and our end of the Season Turkey Raffle and Potluck Harvest Party.


September 2015: The market was awarded a USDA Local Foods Promotion Program Grant for their project: Homer Farmers Market: Expanding Local Access and Solidifying Networks Statewide.

  • Award Amount: $81,345.00
  • Increase access and market awareness of local produce for low-income and at-risk populations through increased advertisingto targeted areas, demonstrations on food preparation, storage, and nutrition as well as increase the current efficiency of the market by providing regional producers and farmers’ market staff management training and support
